Hi, I'm Lara - the girl who left her home in sunny South Africa on a grand venture to Niagara, in snowy Canada. I'm the face behind SPRINKLES OF GOODNESS and so happy that you found me here.

I studied for my Marketing qualification quite some time before the internet hit our shores! I've seen the inner workings of various industries such as garment manufacture, papercraft and print media.

​

In my first job as a graduate, my days were spent with pen and carbon paper ordering fabric, trimming and notions via fax (gasp!). To think that I now have a website with an online store is humbling.

​

Together with a love for design, my favourite hobby (scrapbooking) turned into a career path I didn't ever imagine possible. I have enjoyed diverse roles in the papercraft industry including - buyer education on behalf of industry manufacturers, hosting multiple international charity events, gathering women from all walks of life for weekly workshops in my home-studio and a monthly scrapbook subscription kit, called Sprinkles of Goodness (that’s where the name originated circa 2010).

A marketer’s goal is of course to get product, or information, into the hands of consumers. Queue a new challenge presented to me… the Editor of a South African paper craft magazine. Being part of a small team compiling the bimonthly magazine, I quickly learned the ropes of designing media layouts, advertising, styling for photography and naturally deadlines!

​

My trek across the world and settling in a new country as a family of three put a pause on most of these activities, yet the desire to be creative was never stilled. I began making greeting cards and crafted gifts for my new neighbours, friends, and schoolteachers. In turn, they began asking me to make items for them to gift their own friends and neighbours. One day I was asked if I could decorate a pillow cover, and I suppose this is where we get to say, “and the rest is history…”!

I am blessed with women in my life who consistently encourage my creativity. Through the products I create, my wish is to sprinkle goodness in all the lives I touch.
